Not every multiplayer game has to be in your face explosive action or adrenaline inducing competitiveness. Sometimes, you just want to chill with your friends and relax. Enter Flock, a new multiplayer co-op game from Hollow Ponds and Richard Hogg.
Flock is all about “the joy of flight and collecting adorable flying creatures with your friends.” A trailer was shown during the Annapurna Interactive Showcase today and it’s simply mesmerizing. Check it out below.
From the beautiful landscapes to the whimsical creatures, there’s a very surreal feeling I get from Flock. If you’re reminded of the 2014 game Hohokum while watching the trailer, that’s because Hallow Ponds and Richard Hogg both worked together on that as well.
Hohokum was created as an expansive playground where you could wander about and get lost in. I get the same vibes with Flock, although there does seem to be a bit more focus here.
Log in, fly around some amazing landscapes and search for rare and elusive creatures to add to your flock. It’s that simple.
It’s unclear what happens as you continue to expand your flock, but does it really matter? This game is about as serene as it gets.
Flock is coming “soon” to Xbox, PlayStation and Steam. Oh, and speaking of Hohokum, the former PlayStation exclusive also launched on PC today and is available on Steam. Here’s the trailer if you never saw the original one.
Tell me this doesn’t remind you of the newly announced Flock. Both games are absolutely hypnotizing and enthralling and I can’t wait to dive into Flock. Heck, I may even revisit Hohokum on PC because it’s 2022, the world is crazy and I need that escape.
If you’re looking for something a little more action-packed, Annapurna Interactive also revealed a 3D action mech game, Bounty Star.
