The Miami Marlins and the Oakland A’s meet in MLB action from RingCentral Coliseum on Monday night.
The Miami Marlins will look to rebound from their 10-3 loss at the hands of the Dodgers for their fourth straight defeat. Jesus Sanchez has 61 hits along with 3 triples, 12 home runs, 33 RBIs and a .205 batting average. Jorge Soler has 13 doubles with 13 home runs of his own and Garrett Cooper has 87 hits, a .269 batting average and 24 doubles while Jesus Aguilar also has 96 hits of his own this season. Miguel Rojas also has 29 RBIs and 14 doubles and Avisail Garcia’s got 30 RBIs and 75 hits. Pablo Lopez will start here and is 7-8 with a 3.83 ERA and 131 strikeouts this season.
The Oakland A’s will hope to build off back-to-back wins over the Mariners after a 5-3 win on Sunday. Sheldon Neuse has 55 hits with 24 RBIs and a .226 batting average while Sean Murphy has 101 hits with 28 doubles and 16 home runs with 53 RBIs. Seth Brown’s got team-highs of 17 home runs and 49 RBIs with 21 doubles and Elvis Andrus also has 24 doubles as well this season. Adam Oller will start here and is 2-5 with a 6.63 ERA and 35 strikeouts this season.
Miami is 7-19 in their last 26 games overall and 5-16 in their last 21 interleague road games while the under is 5-0-1 in their last 6 series-opening games. Oakland is 15-37 in their last 52 home games and 4-11 in their last 15 games overall while the over is 4-0-1 in their last 5 games following a win.
I get the reasoning for be backing a home underdog in some spots, but I’m looking at the over here. Adam Oller has not been very good in his tenure this season with an ERA over six, and while Pablo Lopez has been one of the better arms in the Marlins rotation over the course of the season, the problem is that he hasn’t been sharp As of late and I think this is one of those games that ends up closer to 8 or 9 runs so give me the over here.
