While we still have two weeks left before Samsung unveils its latest foldable phones, smartwatch, and earbuds, there’s something you should do right now if you’re even remotely interested in buying any of them. Before the pre-order window opens on August 10, Samsung is offering Samsung.com credit off your purchase of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, Watch 5, Watch 5 Pro, or Buds2 Pro. The amount off varies by the type of products you reserve, and if you reserve all three product types, you get a maximum of $200 instant Samsung Credit in addition to whatever enhanced trade-in values Samsung offers once pre-order opens up.
If you’re worried about reserving a phone you might not buy — we know a lot about the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Fold 4, but we don’t know everything, after all — no need. You don’t have to put any money down, and you can pass on the reservation should something during Unpacked spoil your opinion of the device.

It’s worth mentioning that you don’t have to buy one of the foldables to still take advantage of this. For instance, if you’re perfectly happy with your Galaxy S22, but your Galaxy Watch Active2 has finally bitten the dust, you can reserve the Galaxy Watch 5 and get a $50 credit to use on spare watch bands, chargers, or other “eligible” products”. If you sign up to reserve a unit between July 19th and August 10th, the following credits are available:
- Galaxy Buds 2 Pro: $30 Samsung Credit
- Galaxy Watch 5 or Watch 5 Pro: $50 Samsung Credit
- Galaxy Z Flip 4 or Galaxy Z Fold 4: $100 Samsung Credit
- Galaxy Buds 2 Pro + Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Flip 4: $130 Samsung Credit
- Galaxy Watch 5 or Watch 5 Pro + Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Flip 4: $150 Samsung Credit
- Galaxy Buds 2 Pro + Galaxy Watch 5 or Watch 5 Pro + Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Flip 4: $200 Samsung Credit
We aren’t entirely sure we’ll see Galaxy Buds 2 Pro at this event, but no other Samsung earbuds have been teased and leaked except for these. Across the board, though all of these products appear to be incremental upgrades and polishing up of already solid products — both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 are among the best Android phones on the market today — so if you didn’t hop on the foldable bandwagon last year, now might be the best time. For the phones, especially, you should reserve one right now if you’re even remotely thinking of buying one, as some pricing leaks out of Europe seem to indicate these incremental upgrades are bringing incremental price hikes with them.
Again, there’s no obligation to actually buy something, according to Samsung. If you don’t pre-order, it’s no skin off Samsung’s back; you just don’t get the Samsung credit you were offered. And do note that this is a creditnot a discount, so it will not count towards the price of your new Galaxy Watch5, Buds2 Pro, or Z Fold 4/Flip 4.
What can you use Samsung Credit on?
You may not be able to use this credit towards your new device, but you can spend it on accessories — such as cases, watch bands, wireless chargers — or other qualified Samsung devices like tablets or other phones for family members. There’s extra emphasis on eligible, as if you reserve just a Z Fold 4/Flip 4, you wouldn’t be able to take that $100 instant credit and put that towards a Galaxy Watch 5 (though you could likely put it towards a Galaxy Watch 4 or a pair of Galaxy Buds 2), and not every Samsung.com product can be paid for with Samsung Credit.
Another aspect of Samsung Credit worth noting is that you don’t have to spend the credit during your pre-order: if you don’t use any of it, you’ll be sent an email with a promotional code for the amount after your order is fulfilled, which can then be redeemed in one purchase order on Samsung.com. If you opt for this method, please note that the eligible products list won’t change, and in fact can even shrink, as you cannot use promotional credit on any Samsung.com item that has an active instant rebate. For instance, you currently could not use Samsung.com promotional credit to buy this 44mm Galaxy Watch 4 with $40 instant rebate, but you could use it on the 40mm Galaxy Watch 4, which doesn’t have the instant rebate.
Samsung Credit also comes with an expiration date, usually 2-3 months after your purchase, but do not let it come down to the wire. A number of customers have reported Samsung.com credit accidentally expiring a few days before the date in your email, and when it happens, whether or not it gets re-issued depends on the support representative you deal with. So your best bet is to figure out what you’d want to spend that Samsung credit at right now.
Samsung will also be offering trade-ins on its upcoming devices, but details for those aren’t available yet. Sometimes Samsung’s trade-in deals can be pretty spectacular, especially during the pre-order period and particularly when stacked with these pre-registration varied credits, but the numbers have a little in recent years.
